Erin and I took a night train from Chiang Mai to Bangkok and then flew from Bangkok to Siem Reap Cambodia. The night train was interesting, and I had the top bunk. Our train was 3 hours late, which put our flight schedule in jeopardy. But, the Thais on the train bent over backward to help. The car "lady" got a Thai passenger who spoke good English. He recommended we get off the train at an early stop and take a taxi to the airport. He then wrote down instructions for the cabbie in Thai and English for us. The conductor ushered us to a door at the right time and let us off first. We made it to the airport, thru passport control, and security getting to the gate almost too late. But, we made it.
Getting thru Cambodian immigration was a breeze. A couple of grunts and two stamps by the officer and we were done.
More on the sights later.
